EMDR

When experiencing traumatic memories our brains and bodies becomes overwhelmed with information and locks the trauma in unconscious memory to keep us safe.

What is EMDR?

When painful memories are triggered, our brains and bodies may respond with panic or fear; and yet, we may not understand what is actually happening. EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) activates the brain's natural ability to desensitize and reprocesses traumatic memories through bilateral stimulation (typically through eye movements). Utilizing EMDR can significantly reduce emotionally painful responses connected to traumatic events.
